KC Gets Cudi

Kid Cudi entertained one of Kanrocksas’s largest crowds (at least 10,000 people) Friday evening.

He confidently rapped live over tripped out, psychedelic beats.

Cudi sold out the Midland last time he was in town, and clearly has no problem handling festival-sized crowds. His music comes from an introspective, heartfelt place that connects with a wide-range of people.

His spacious beats and deft rapping were a perfect fit for a sun-soaked field of revelers. The crowd sang and rapped along with his every word.

“When I’m 50 years old, I’ll be up here doing these same songs. We’ll be there with our kids and have a ball,” the Cleveland-based rapper declared near the end of his set. “Cudi Zone” went into “Memories,” his collaboration with French DJ David Guetta. “Memories” turned the crowd into a sea of dancing bodies and waving arms.

Hit single “Pursuit of Happiness” closed the show on a hopeful, uplifting note.
