More Pow Added To Unicorn Season Lineup

It’s nearly time for the theatre season to kick off and the Unicorn Theatre has announced an extra surprise for its patrons.

Unicorn Theatre, under the artistic leadership of Producing Artistic Director Cynthia Levin, is adding a hilariously irreverent season extra to the mix of productions it announced earlier this year.

Kansas City based playwright Ron Simonian returns to the Unicorn this holiday season with the next play in his evolution of irreverent and sharp-tongued humor, but this time he’s also playing guitar.

The Unicorn will present, as a season extra, the world premiere of The Soul Collector December 6-23, 2012.

The end of the world is on the horizon and Lester Dupree has a plan for your salvation. Lester infuses his fanatical takes on the word of God with his very own brand of music. It’s time to build your home in heaven, so bring an open mind, an open heart, but most importantly, bring your soul. Your salvation is moments away!

If you loved Next of Kin, Slight Defect: A Desert Holiday, Zone 3, At The Feet of Doves, Arms and Legs, or Thanatos, don’t miss The Soul Collector.

Cynthia Levin directs and Ron Simonian stars as Lester Dupree.  Subscribers can see the show for just $15. Single tickets prices will be announced later and go on sale November 19, 2012.

More details on the season, including casting, and the gala will follow this summer.  Subscriptions are on sale by calling the box office at 816-531-7529 ext. 10, in person at 3828 Main Street, Kansas City, MO 64111 or can be purchased online at www.UnicornTheatre.org. There are discounted subscriptions for students and patrons Under 35.
