The 2014 season productions are:

SHREK: THE MUSICAL – A Barn Junior production, grades 7-12, January 17th through the 26th.  Based on the Oscar winning motion picture – the story takes place in a far away Kingdom turned upside down … a hero “Shrek” comes forth in a fairy tale filled with new music, fun and dancing.  This show is not part of the regular season and is rated PG.

*BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON – February 28th through March 16th.  Set in an alternate universe the show tells the story of America’s first political maverick “A.J.”, his life and his days as “Commander-in Chief”.  The story, a spoof on the seventh American President, is wildly entertaining and will be a comedy to remember.  The show is rated “R” and is the first show of the 2014 regular season.

*FOLLIES – April 18 through May 4th (No performance on Easter Sunday, but a performance is added on Thursday evening May 1st).  Follies is set in 1971 and is the reunion of ex-follies performers.  Songs by Stephen Sondheim include: “Losing My Mind”, “I’m Still Here” and “Broadway Baby”.  The show is surreal, compelling and heart-warming and will feature one of the largest casts ever assembled at The Barn Players.  “FOLLIES” is rated “PG”.

*AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY – May 30th through June 15th — A vanished father, a pill-popping mother and three sisters with secrets – a major new play that mixes and exposes the dark side of the Midwestern American Family.  Rated “R”.

*NOISES OFF — July 18th through August 3rd – maybe the funniest farce ever written with a cast of performers rehearsing a flop play called “Nothings On”.  The show is fast moving, hilarious and a classic comedy.  Rated “PG-13”.

DISNEY’S CINDERELLA KIDS– A Barn Kids production, grades 3-6; theatre workshop sesson one June 17-19, workshop session two July 22-24.  The magic of Disney brings the adaption of the treasured animated film to the stage.  Cinderella is denied a chance to go to the Royal Ball by her wicked Step-Mother and step sisters. But with a little help from her Fairy God Mother, Cinderella goes to the ball, meets the Prince and falls in love.  The outstanding music includes “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” and the classic “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo”.  The show is rated “G” and is not a part of the regular season.

THE BARN PLAYERS ANNUAL BENEFIT CONCERT 2014 – August 15, 16 and 17 — Title to be announced; not a part of the regular season.

*HAIR – September 19 through October 5th – it’s pure rock and roll music and acts as a bridge between generations and view points.  Great musical numbers include: “Aquarius”, “Good MorningStarshine”, “I Believe in Love”, “Hair”, “I got Life”, “What a Piece of Work is Mom” and “Hippie Life”.  Set in the late 60’s and early 70’s – the show is a classic.  Rated “R”

*LA CAGE AUX FOLLIES – November 7th through 23rd – a much revived show about two men partnered for better or worse for over 20 years, who masquerade as “normal” for the sake of their engaged son – all in a hilarious show with lots of twists and turns.  Rated “PG”
